In keeping with its strong association with and encouragement of the arts, The Fuschia Tree will be sponsoring an artist residency at THE LOFT in January ‘10.

Each year, THE LOFT, an artist studio and residency space, offers 4 international residencies and 4 studio sessions to Indian artists. THE LOFT residency allows artists/curators the space to work in an oasis in the heart of Mumbai city. Working space, travel and accommodation arrangements and an opportunity to exhibit in Mumbai are a few benefits offered by this residency program.

The 2010 residency, sponsored by The Fuschia Tree will feature Zenita Komad, a multi-faceted artist who works in a variety of mediums, including painting, performance and video.

On 9th January 2010, the artist, who is based in Austria will exhibit a site specific installation and mixed media works at THE LOFT from 6 pm to 9 pm. The exhibit is titled:  Eternally I am your Yes.

We've established an honest platform for artists to show their works and are proud to announce the launch of an art initiative called "The Fuschia Futures".

This project aims to give an opportunity to emerging artists who have not showcased their works earlier and are in search of fantastic exposure. 

A series of solo exhibitions held monthly showcasing works of some of the most outstanding emerging artists of India, The Fuschia Futures will bring to the fore fresh, talent that is creating innovative, compelling art.

A completely transparent environment, we will make our gallery available for young artists to showcase their works, and assist them in building their profile and marketing their art.

Dilli 6 is a celebration of the old and the new, the raw and the refined, the hot and the cold, amongst all those things that makes Delhi the space that it is – beloved of those who live in it and an alluring mystery to those who come to visit.

A photographer with a certain repertoire and style will lead a small, focused group of photography enthusiasts. This group of passionate and like-minded people will explore a facet of Delhi through two ‘onsite’ sessions and one studio session. The group will learn and share various aspects of photography and improve their overall skill to capture the fleeting moments that touch all our hearts through the artistry of lenses.

The work which is created will go on to become an exhibition at The Fuschia Tree gallery and will be promoted through printed catalogue and PR support.

Every exhibition will have wall space dedicated to each group, bringing different perspectives of the same subject to the viewers of this collection.

• Where Dilli begins: Discovering Chandni Chowk, Red Fort and Jama Masjid; Journey focused on Street Photography – COMPLETED IN APRIL
• Taste of Dilli : Exploring street food and the love for chaat and kebabs; Journey focused on Street Food Photography – COMPLETED IN MAY
• Fashion of Dilli: Exploring the eclectic fusion of Delhi’s unique fashion sense; Journey focused on Portfolio Photography
